New Banner from James Heimer.

We put the word out to all the collaborating artists involved in the World’s Fair Exhibit to create a banner for the both the art show and blog. James was the first to deliver and as someone working on my banner right now I have to say he set the bar pretty high.
Look for this banner and many others like it to grace the top of this site in the weeks to come. We are also hoping do a print or a shirt featuring some of them!

A Piece of a Piece…

(just a peek at something I’ve been working on)

Recently, we asked the participating artists to make their own interpretation of the World’s Fair title, both to be hung in the show and represented as a banner on this site. James Heimer was the first to give us his. Watch this space for the new banner coming very soon!

In other news, designs for the flyer are just about finished and being sent off to the print shop this coming week. They will be available on (First) Friday, September 3rd at Shadow’s Space Gallery. Check out the new show and the awesome space.

It’s all happening!

Postcard Art

(Click to make images bigger.)

In preparation for the upcoming World’s Fair exhibition at Shadow’s Space Gallery Concetta and I purchased a bunch of vintage postcards. On her last trip across the pond Concetta put them in the hands of the artists from the UK. This Saturday at my house we will have a bunch to look over and pass out to make lil’ works of art. This is also an awesome opportunity to collaborate and/or ask some artist friends that are not participating in the World’s Fair to pitch in. No worries if you cannot make it out on Saturday. Just let one of us know you’re interested (via e-mail, blog, smoke signal, etc…) and we will get ‘em to ya! I posted a couple of scans to show everyone how cool these are and I’ll be posting my finish as a sort of “before” and “after”.
