The folks at Shadow’s Space have been gracious enough to post an online gallery for the World’s Fair Art Show. If you haven’t had a chance to see the show yet you should definitely check it out here. Should you see something you like you can inquire about it via email at shadowsgallery@gmail.com.
The show will be up for another month as will the online gallery, so all of you with a blog, facebook or an awesome email list please spread the word and feel free to post the link.

Sifting through the PR that the World’s Fair Art Show has received over the last couple of weeks I came across this bit posted on Phrequency.com’s blog:
“Concetta Barbera and Patch’s curated World’s Fair Art Show might lack the worldliness for the comparison to the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago, which they were shooting for in the press release, especially since this show is heavy on local illustrators.”
Now I don’t make it habit to respond to every misprint or misquote, especially on the internet. But I felt obliged to stand up for my international brothers and sisters that submitted all their work a week early and braved the Post Office in order to guarantee delivery on time. I have posted a correction on their blog (sorry for the late response) and I thought I might post the links to our friends from overseas so you can take a gander.

Just wanted to let everyone know about the successful opening of the World’s Fair Art Show. There were a lot of people on hand and a bunch of sales to boot. Nikki Sneakers stated that our show was “One of the most successful in the gallery’s history.” Concetta and I would like to thank all of the artists for their brilliant contributions and everyone in attendance for showing their support. And don’t frown if you were unable to attend, we have posted a ton of pics on our new Flickr account and there is an online gallery here that will be updated with even more images in the days that follow. You can also inquire about the work at contact@shadowsspace.com
Also, we are working on another gathering at the space before the show comes down at the end of December. Keep your eyes peeled for more info on that event in the next few days.

I have been working to finish up my “World’s Fair” banner over the course of several months. I wrapped it up just in time to display it for the opening tonight. During this process my former instructor, and now colleague, Bob Stein, stopped by and asked “Where’s the L, D and S?” He had been following the show’s progress on the blog. He was also inquiring because he had shared my art with his Typography class just next door to my own. I was in shock; Mr. Stein had used my artwork as an example in his classroom! Show be damned I am on cloud nine already due this information.
So, here it is Mr. Stein, in its entirety and on time.
Consider it my ode to your class.
May I have extra-credit for completing the word ‘Fair’?
One a late Summer afternoon, Patch and I were talking about the ‘World’s Fair’ show and several other inspirational topics. During our discussion, he had a great idea… to paint little characters on champagne corks! From that moment, the cork peeps were ‘born’ (thank you Patch)! I’ll be displaying several of these tiny creations in the ‘World’s Fair’ show. Looking forward to it!
Above is a picture of my dinner table chock full of World’s Fair press stuff. Concetta and I have been on the PR war path for the last two weeks. We have dropped press packets (printed folios, postcards, press releases, artist bios, etc…) in the snail mail to assorted press contacts; local, national and international. Last night we completed round one of the e-mail blasts to blogs, press and assorted art contacts. We are currently in the process of distributing more than 100 posters advertising the exhibition. On the gallery’s part, they printed the awesome postcard as well as hooked us up with R5 Productions. So don’t be surprised to see our postcards and posters alongside your favorite bands and whatnot.
We are in the process of putting together both the sketchbook and limited edition silkscreen featuring some of the killer banners that have been designed for the blog.
Speaking of killer banners check out Melissa Lomax’s new one at the top of the page. Just in time for Halloween!

Happy Halloween My Creepy Crew! Just wanted to share my most recent Halloween piece with all of you. ‘Nite Brite’ was created for ‘Hallowed Halloween’ a show currently hanging at Proximity Gallery in Philadelphia. A big thanks to Sam Heimer, who coordinated the entire event! The opening was a blast, truly a grand way to celebrate the season.
We just got these in from the printer. I think they came out amazing!
